Whimsy Wees Art Studio was created from the imagination of Lisa Arcangel. She wanted a place where anyone can step inside and enjoy the process of creating art and everyone is an artist! Lisa is a mother of 2 and has been a teacher for over 20 years. She has been teaching with Beaverton School District since 2017 at Findley Elementary. She’s always had a passion for art and got her B.F.A from Art Center College of Design. Opening up this art studio has combined two of her most favorite things in the world…KIDS & ART!

Whimsy Wees is a process art studio in the Bethany area of Portland, OR that opened in 2023. We offer classes for toddlers, our “Little Wees” all the way up to 65+, which we lovingly call our “Classic Wees.” We also offer Summer Art Camps, Birthday Parties, Mural Paint Parties, Home-School Workshops, Open Studio, monthly Family Paint Nights and Adult Sip & Paint Nights.

Whimsy Wees is a place where everyone is an artist and is enjoying the process of being creative. Positivity and community will be the center of everything we do together. Artists will learn how to appreciate each other’s artwork and learn how to compliment others’ creativity. We want all artists to feel that the studio is a safe and inclusive place that includes everyone and is free of negativity. The studio has a zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, and intimidation. Any artists that aren’t able to follow the rules will be asked to leave the studio.

A Happy Place

Our Creative Process

Our art studio supports processed-based art-making. It allows artists to enjoy the process of making the art instead of focusing on the finished product. Classes are open-ended, meaning there are no boundaries, limits, or restrictions, allowing everyone to express themselves uniquely without the pressure of a perfect end result. We provide exposure and inspiration to a wide array of high-quality art materials, techniques & processes, art movements & styles, along with providing exciting exposure to current and past artists. This inspires our artists to form ideas through their own discovery and exploration and find the joy of creating art.
