Welcome to Whimsy Wees Art Studio, nestled in the heart of Bethany, Portland. Opened in 2023, our studio is a creative haven where kids and adults can create, explore, and express their inner artist. From art classes and summer camps to paint parties, homeschool workshops, Family Paint Nights, Kids Night Outs, and Sip & Paints…there’s always something colorful happening here.
Whimsy Wees was dreamed up by Lisa Arcangel, a loving wife, proud mom of two and lifelong art lover. She has over 20 years of teaching experience and a B.F.A. from Art Center College of Design. You’ll often find Lisa in the studio with the music blasting, dancing around alongside the kids, painting, laughing, and making every corner of Whimsy Wees warm and creatively fun!
We feel so blessed when Gwen Zydlewski joined the team in 2024! She brings balance, grace, and a touch of magic. We lovingly call her our Unicorn from Heaven! She spent years working in an art studio while earning her degree, discovering that her happiest days were filled with paint, creativity, and community. With her gentle energy and artistic sparkle, Gwen helps make every class feel calm, colorful, and full of heart.
Shayla joined us at the end of 2025 and brings heart, creativity, and community connection to everything she does. She heart is with art programs that connect local seniors with youth. She loves creating art with our youngest artists all the way up to our senior artists. With her thoughtful creativity and community-centered spirit, Shayla brings warmth, intention, and inspiration to every class she leads.
With her warm, steady presence and genuine love for working with kids, Jeanne creates a fun environment for our In School Enrichment classes, where students feel supported, encouraged, and inspired. Drawing on her many years with Bonny Slope’s After School Club, she brings patience, creativity, and thoughtful guidance to each class. Jeanne is excited to share a creative season full of exploration, confidence-building, and artistic joy with your students.
Jordyn is our assistant teacher and a wonderful creative force in the studio. You’ll often find her organizing materials, creating art pieces, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. With her creative spirit and positive energy, Jordyn helps bring inspiration, support, and an extra touch of magic to the studio.
Whimsy Wees is a place where everyone is an artist and enjoys the process of being creative. Positivity and community will be the center of everything we do together. Artists will learn how to appreciate each other’s artwork and learn how to compliment others’ creativity. We want all artists to feel that the studio is a safe and inclusive place that includes everyone and is free of negativity. The studio has a zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, and intimidation. Any artists that aren’t able to follow the rules will be asked to leave the studio.
